Air Command have issued advice on private fostering. If personnel are going on deployment or detachment for longer than 28 days and are intending to leave a child(ren) under the age of 16 (under 18 if disabled) with someone who is not a parent or close relative of the child, the arrangement is regarded as private fostering.
